 The Fixie Travel Grinder has almost all of the features you love from the Lido Hand Grinder, but with even more portability. This is truly the travel coffee grinder you’ve been waiting for. This Orphan grinder is the smallest, most lightweight high-quality burr grinder on the market right now. 

Grinders like the give us the ability to take our craft coffee on the road, but the grinder itself still has some limits that don’t always make it easy to travel with. The Orphan Espresso Fixie has solved those problems. 

You still get the same durability and strength as the Lido 3, as well as the same grind setting range. The Fixie is made with steel conical burrs that last years without any damage and give users the reassurance that their grinder is going to yield an accurate grind every time. 

The grind settings range from Turkish espresso to a coarse cold brew grind, but the Fixie has made the experience even easier. This hand grinder comes with three different “spacers” that lock the grinder in place to set the burrs at your preferred distance. These give you three basic settings, but you can use the four Teflon pieces for more precision in your grind size.

Extremely lightweight body

The size and weight of the Fixie Travel Grinder may be one of the best selling points for those who love to be on the go. In the past if you wanted to take a vacation, you had to prepare for mediocre coffee at a gas station to get your caffeine fix. 

Now with brewers like the Aeropress and burr grinders like the Orphan Fixie, you can have craft-quality coffee anytime, anywhere. At under 8 inches and weighing only 0.7 pounds, the Fixie is the smallest and lightest burr hand grinder you can find. 

Simple, “fixed” grind adjustment

The name, “Fixie” was inspired by a fixed-gear bike. Orphan Espresso is always looking for ways to make the grind adjustment process easier on hand grinders, and the Fixie is the simplest one yet. 

This manual coffee grinder comes with three separate disks, or “spacers” that lock into place. Each of these three disks can act as a setting, and Orphan states that you can use these for “Aeropress, Chemex, and French Press.” 

There is also the option to ensure a more precise grind by using one of the four Teflon pieces. According to Orphan Espresso, you can achieve 19 different grind settings with 0.1 mm precision using these combined methods.

When choosing a grinder for your on-the-go coffee experience, you always want to look for something with steel conical burrs because these are the strongest and longest lasting.
